Adam is traditionally regarded as the first human created by God in the Abrahamic religious traditions, such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. According to the Book of Genesis in the Bible, God formed Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed life into him, making him a living being. Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden to care for it, and he enjoyed a close relationship with God.
However, Adam and his companion, Eve—who was created from Adam's side—disobeyed God's command not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This act, known as the Fall, introduced sin and mortality into the world, according to these traditions. Despite this, Adam is seen as a significant figure, symbolizing the origins of humankind and the beginning of humanity's relationship with God.
